Distribution Operations Manager - Kuwait The Corporate Logistics Team plan, move and control the flow of goods from point of origin to point of consumption across all divisions, markets and brands within Alshaya. Working closely with brand teams to ensure appropriate stock and delivery to store, the team manages a range of complex and diverse activities including shipping, freight, warehouse operations, customs clearance (in-bound and out-bound), compliance and project management. The Role As Distribution Operations Manager you will work closely with internal contacts such as merchandisers and regional managers to ensure a continuous stock flow from the Distribution Centre whilst improving productivity and managing operating costs. You will achieve this by: * Creating, developing and maintaining good working relationships and networks with both internal and external stakeholders * Developing, motivating, appraising and training employees * Continuously appraising the Distribution Centre management * Driving performance by removing obstacles, improving processes, and recommending solutions * Planning all inventory activities, appraising all procedures for controlling shrinkage and taking corrective action where necessary * Planning for stock take and cycle counts * Ensure all housekeeping and health & safety standards are consistent with company policy. * Providing accurate information and support to Operations and Merchandising teams and liaising with outside service departments, third party providers and government agencies. * Should have thorough knowledge in supply-chain management, retail operations, shipping & customs, and distribution * Experience in monitoring and managing distribution centres and shipping departments * Experience of developing employees to achieve company targets and goals * Experience of ensuring that security, inventory management and safety standards are maintained * A Graduate qualification in logistics is desirable.
