An international, non-profit development and humanitarian organisation working in 30 countries worldwide is seeking to fill multiple Field Assistant positions to support the implementation of projects in Hodeidah and Raymah governorates. 1. Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of a Field Supervisor, Field Assistants have the following duties: • Participate in assessments for the identification of beneficiary households • Preparation of lists of beneficiaries in coordination with contact persons in targeted areas and other concerned stakeholders • Help identify providers and goods/services to be provided to targeted beneficiaries • Participate in the distribution of cash grants, and emergency agriculture and livestock kits • Translating work documents as needed from English to Arabic, and vice-versa • Assist in the preparation of work plans and budgets for different activities • Participate in the distribution of agricultural and livestock kits • Train beneficiaries in the field of nutrition, hygiene or agricultural practices, including on the following subjects: o Animal health/care o Crops and vegetable cultivation, home gardening, good irrigation practices o Nutrition and good feeding practices • Provide timely answers to beneficiaries’ questions and inquiries in the above-mentioned fields • Prepare training material (brochures, booklets, posters etc.) for the above-mentioned training with the input of project staff • Cooperate with other program staff in all other components of the programme including WASH infrastructure rehabilitation, food security and livelihoods • Prepare and draft reports • Actively and facilitate and encourage beneficiaries in the implementation of improved agricultural and nutritional practices • Promote and encourage the participation of female beneficiaries in project activities including decision-making processes, e.g. focus group discussions • Perform any other task as requested by the Project Manager 2. Required skills • Good knowledge of project target areas and local specifics • Good communication and teamwork skills • Good reporting skills • Good analytical and problem solving skills • Computer literacy (notably Microsoft Office) This job requires extensive travel to the field. 3. Qualifications • Bachelor Degree in Agriculture, Animal Production, Home Economics, civil engineering or other WASH/agriculture-related degrees • Previous work Experience in a related field • Language requirements: native Arabic speaker, ability to communicate in English (both orally and in writing) preferred 4. Remuneration This position has the following salary: $666 USD 5.
