Vacancy no: UNICEF/North Sudan/2013/26 Duty station: Kassala Job level: NOA Position no: 81687 Contract type: fixed Term · Undertakes ongoing field visits to UNICEF project sites for the participation in, or observation of nutrition surveillance activities and local conditions. Prepares routine reports on results of visits and project progress. · Collects and assemble data and background information with regard to Nutrition programs/projects in program areas of operation and provides updated information in timely manner. Analyses programme/project status and recommends appropriate adjustments. Prepares tables, graphs or other statistical data for technical review/monitoring purpose and submits report on a monthly basis. · Monitors the flow of supply and non-supply assistance to local authorities and partners. Monitors utilization of programme inputs and manages DCTs. · Provides training and carries out on-job supervision for partners in the area of surveying and surveillance. · Investigates queries regarding authorization, delivery or payments and follows up with finance administrative, Supply and Programme staff on processing of payments, advances to governments and liquidation of accounts. Ensure that activities are in accordance with plans of action. · Communicates with government, UN agencies, NGOs and other partners on project details. Recommends courses of action to the supervisor. Maintains three-w’s records (who, where and what) for nutrition activities by partners. · Undertakes arrangements for visits to project sites for government and other partners, which include providing information and briefing on project activities and status. · Manages nutrition inputs to child health days and coordinates with other relevant UNICEF sections to ensure maximum impact of CHDs. · Drafts sections of donor, annual and other reports, as required by the Nutrition Specialist and Chief of field office. · University degree in Public Health Nutrition, Nutrition, bio-statistics or a related technical field Advanced University degree is an advantage. · Work Experience: Two years professional work experience in project administration, including data collection and analysis, ideally pertaining to Nutrition Program. Through working experience with Epi Info (including syntax writing) and ENA for SMART essential, working knowledge of other statistical packages (e.g STATA, SPSS, R, etc) an advantage. IPC experience desirable. · Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of the local working language of the duty station (Arabic) is an asset.
