Action Contre la Faim (ACF), is an International Humanitarian Organization which is private, non-political, non-denomination and non-profit making. Action Contre la Faim vocation is to save lives by combating hunger, disease and those crises threatening the lives of vulnerable men, women and children. ACF currently operates in 47 countries globally and conduct programs in nutrition, food security, health, water and sanitation. Location: Hodeida - with regular visit to the field Duration: 12 Months renewable Assignment: In charge of water quality testing at project sites; and provision of recommendation for safe handling of water at the community level MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Water analysis: Take water samples from water sources, in homes and in other places of water consumption; Carry out water analyses: physical, bacteriological and chemical; Record, organize and analyse the results obtained; and Take part in the collection of data on water quality Conduct water treatment: Treat water according to the analysis result to make it safe for consumption; Supervise general functioning of water treatment processes including disinfection and chlorination; and order/manage consumables required for water treatment and analysis. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: Relevant certificate; equivalent experience; good knowledge of the water and sanitation sector; Rigorous attitude; Good communication skills; Good knowledge of the area and of the target populations; Flexibility – Dynamism; IT skills (Word, Excel).
