Position Overview: Based in Cairo, the Business Development Manager will primarily focus on being the global commercial owner for the white space identification and penetration, creation of new products, applications, services, adjacencies and existing product extensions while executing on long term marketing trends over the Strategic Planning (STRAP) period through commercially managing the entirety of the New Product Introduction (NPI) portfolio, and STRAP leadership. This position will be the top strategic marketing role across all of Specialty Products (SP) and will implement commercial excellence across all segments. *Responsibilities: * * Engage externally with customer and development partners to gain primary information for the development of tested value propositions in addition to aligning the priorities and resources allocation for the Technology Team * Identify white space and develop and lead business plans for market penetration and growth * Lead key marketing initiatives for the business segment focused on building new product and applications development capability and associated commercialization * Have business unit Portfolio Management for product and market development * Assume ownership of long-term marketing strategy: business definition, anticipation of trends, value management, growth, market research and comp analysis * Sponsor for new product development – stage gate process & continuous cycle time improvement * Develop marketing plans for the business unit growth initiatives * Investigate new market and application opportunities aligned with the business strategy that provides significant scale and synergy to drive growth and leverage current portfolio of services and customers * Drive understanding and management of value proposition to customer groups * Lead the business leadership in developing a highly successful three-to-five year growth plan including marketing plans translated into global and regional strategic plans * Equip the organization to utilize a fact-based analytical approach to assess market trends, competitive data, technology enhancements, as well as new product developments to create innovative strategies, plans and initiatives that will strengthen our business performance * Interface with the strategic marketing and commercial development resources within the business focused on talent and capability development * Take leadership role in supporting Strategic Planning process * Contribute as a thought leader on the business leadership team to help identify organic growth opportunities in adjacent, high margin markets * Implement processes to manage product strategies and positioning to gain maximum leverage in attractive markets * Define and manage research into markets and competing products * Work with business team to prioritize new product development initiatives and product management implementation; strategically manage product lifecycles Undergraduate degree in engineering, economics or other highly analytical discipline MBA required 8 plus years of business development/strategic marketing experience in industrial business to business (including success leading marketing, strategic planning and growth initiatives and proven marketing strategic, analytical and implementation skills) Demonstrated strong business acumen with the leadership and functional ability to define and implement growth strategies Solid commercial development and marketing expertise in a B2B environment undergoing profitable organic growth Strong business acumen, “street smarts” and an in-depth understanding of the marketing and financial implications of new opportunities. Exposure to global operations, with experience in developing effective global business strategies and marketing plans across many different operating environments Proven ability to add value to high-level management interactions Proven track record to develop, communicate and create buy-in around business strategies Ability to forge solid relationships and manage across a broad and geographically dispersed business Strong team player and builder, receptive to ideas from others.
