Job Description
* Assist project lead/senior engineer in preparing calculations and construction documentation. Attend project coordination meetings with architects and other disciplines, and assist lead/senior engineer in taking meeting notes and preparing minutes of meetings.
* Use Autodesk Revit tools to present design and engineering solutions.
* Research, plan, design and develop building engineering systems, including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing and electrical, in strict consultation and coordination with project lead/senior engineer.
* Manage activities under supervision within own field of responsibility.
* Apply technical aptitude to tasks to solve day to day problems, always willing to learn new skills.
* Use initiative to ensure work processes, procedures and systems are effective and efficient.
* Contribute to the effective functioning of the team by identifying with and participating in the attainment of team objectives, communicating and sharing knowledge.
* Build understanding of design, construction and project management concepts. Requires a minimum of 0-1 years of engineering experience. In the case of a graduate leaving university and starting their first role in employment, any specific experience gained as part of the degree course will be considered
* Basic understanding of building services engineering principles.
* Technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems.
* Statistical data analysis experience.
* Basic knowledge of building codes and standards as well as industry practices.
* Basic skills in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
* Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and related engineering software.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Certification in relevant BIM program.
* Relevant engineering discipline
* Graduate membership of internationally recognized engineering institution.
* Fluency in English, verbal and written. Proficiency in other languages, especially Arabic, will be highly regarded.
