Taylor Sterling is looking for an Area Safety Manager to join a first tier building contractor in Dubai. The Area Safety Manager works with and through management, to ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures and to assist in the achievement of profitability/productivity requirements. Essential Functions: Enforce compliance with OSHA Accident/Exposure Reporting and Investigation. Manage and implement the Accident/Exposure Reporting and Investigation program. Ensure the program clearly explains the methods and practices for reporting and investigating accidents/exposures; communicate risks to management Worker's Compensation Claim Management. Review, monitor, and manage the claims process. This includes managing the early return to work and modified duty program, monitoring and analyze accident and injury trends, performing hazard analysis; working directly with the worker’s compensation insurance carrier to investigate all reports in a timely fashion Emergency Response Plan. In conjunction with facilities and engineering, ensure company's ERP is current and implemented. Ensure appropriate individuals are trained in the processes and procedures Train and ensure that the following are practiced: Personal Protective Equipment, Machine Safety & Equipment usage, Lockout/Tagout, Hazardous Communication, Evacuation Drills, Fall Prevention, etc. Administer and manage the Record Keeping, OSHA 300 & 300a Logs, and Posting Requirements Coordinate Process Safety Management (PSM) inspections Perform site inspections and report all concerns to management in a timely fashion Schedule and coordinate with vendor substance abuse random testing Work effectively with other Department Managers and Human Resources to enhance the safety program Conduct monthly employee safety meetings and other trainings as necessary Job Requirements: The Area Safety Manager should be hands-on and should regularly evaluate and propose areas for improvement. Should also have the following: Bachelor's Degree in a related field is highly preferred Appropriate certification, such as Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (COSS), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred 10+ years of progressive safety experience Experience in a major/ complex build environment is preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Thorough knowledge of applicable OSHA regulations Taylor Sterling is as an independent search and selection recruitment firm based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
