The Greater Nile Petroleum Operating Company Limited (GNPOC) is established in 1997, with its Head Office in Khartoum. GNPOC is a joint operating company comprising of internationally recognized oil companies of CNPC International Nile Ltd. From Peoples Republic of China, PERTONAS Carigali Nile Ltd. Form Malaysia, ONGC Nile Ganga B.V. from India and Sudapet Co. Ltd. From Republic of the Sudan GNPOC has the rights to explore, develop and produce crude oil from Blocks 2 and 4 and currently has production facilities located in, amongst others, Heglig, Diffra and Neem. GNPOC also operates a 1504 KM long pipeline extending from the Central Processing Facility in Heglig to Bashair Marine Terminal at the Red Sea Coast. GNPOC>s target is to become the premier operating company in the Sudan. This Advertisement is for the following vacancy: Simulation Engineer (276) In Development Department – E&P Khartoum Participates in reservoir testing, evaluation and interpretation activities and recommends optimum methods of field development planning, performance monitoring and surveillance activities by running simulation or reservoir models using the industry soft ware or by analytical method. Ensures final reporting and well – file updating for all analyses and field data and coordinates data, input and information exchanges with other concerned sections. a.         Provides input for well test proposal which includes well test objectives, procedures, selection of testing types and selection of test intervals with the agreement and coordination between Geological Section, Exploration and Production Department. Review and analyze acquired data interpret well test data using appropriate software. b.      Recommends acquisitions of representative fluid sample and coring intervals for laboratory measurement techniques used in laboratory for fluid and rock data and provide analysis to determine the validity of the laboratory measurement and uses various techniques and equations to predict representative fluid and rock behavior. c.       Reviews, analyzes and provides comprehensive techniques in preparing and recommending the most optimal field development plan for new fields. These include performing numerical reservoir simulation studies and/or other conventional reservoir engineering studies to prepare full comprehensive reports of field development plan which number of wells and locations expected flow streams, drive mechanism and secondary or tertiary drives requirements, recovery factor, reserves and reservoir management strategies. d.      Reviews, analyzes and provides comprehensive post drilling review upon the completion of development drilling campaign. e.       Periodical reviews, analyzes and provides comprehensive techniques in well surveillance activities for the producing fields. These include preparing reservoir monitoring programs and verifying validity of acquired data, performing well performance analysis using the conventional reservoir engineering methods and/or numerical reservoir simulation studies, where necessary. f.       Recommends reservoir areas and program features> for pilot studies of various oil recovery enhancement techniques. g.      Maintains and updates Annual Review of Reserves to ensure correct and timely contribution. Liaises with other engineers to present required data and narratives in yearly publication or required updates. h.      Participates in the definition of contracted special field testing related to reservoir engineering.   i.        Establishes test and production objectives for each well, ensures proper surveillance and well – file completion. Approves development and production testing proposals, reviews. j.        Supervises the day-to-day receipt, calibration, plotting or tabulation and file or data base updating of production data, such as core analysis and pressure tests, used reservoir engineering studies. Establishing priorities and schedules calibration, manipulates and plots received data and reviews results to ensure appropriate output is provided. Ensure that the computer database, well-files and related project files are updated and those appropriate backup copies are made. k.      Participates in department project teams studying oil recovery enhancements opportunities for the company. l.        Carries out other similar or related duties, such as participating in the preparation of various reports, including the Section> Monthly Report and ongoing progress reports; participating in the preparation of the section> budget. Works in conjunction with Information Technology personal in defining software and hardware requirements and other program developments utilized in the Unit> activities.   1.      B.Sc degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline. 2.      8 years experience in Reservoir Engineering, including experience in well site and Reservoir simulation. 3.      Fluency in English, and Proficiency in the use of computer software applications. ·         All applicants must have a release from the National Service. ·         Only short listed applicants will be contacted for interview. ·         All short listed applicants will be subject to technical and English ability test. ·         Recent photograph plus copies of qualifications, experience, national service and birth certificates, should be attached with application. ·         Application from is available at GNPOC Reception Desk at Khartoum Tower.
